Among Batman villains, The Penguin isn’t necessarily the most dangerous or the strongest adversary that the Dark Knight has ever faced. But Oswald “Oz” Cobblepott should never be underestimated, because his intellect and his ruthless streak have taken him pretty far in the criminal underworld. And in the latest promo for HBO’s The Penguin, Oz is ready to declare himself the new Kingpin of Gotham City. Colin Farrell is reprising his role from The Batman, but for this series, Oswald’s last name has been shortened to Cobb. The show takes place roughly a week after the film, which left Carmine Falcone dead and the criminal underworld in disarray. That gives Oz the perfect opportunity to fill the power vacuum left behind by his late boss.Naturally, some of the other criminals in town aren’t going to simply accept Oz’s accession to the top. However, his greatest rival may be Carmine’s daughter, Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti), a mentally disturbed woman who wants to take her father’s crown for herself.
